Mumbai Nagpur Expressway will be opened for the general public soon to connect the major cities of Mumbai and Nagpur. Also, known as the Samruddhi Mahamarg, the project was announced in 2015 by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). The project has been proposed to be developed in the six and eight lanes configurations.

Mumbai Nagpur Expressway Timeline

Mumbai Nagpur Expressway was conceived and conceptualised in the year 2015. The government announced the project in 2015 and after two years bids were invited from contractors. Presently, the Maharashtra Samrudhhi Mahamarg project is underway and will be opened to the public in 2023.

Mumbai Nagpur Expressway is 710 km long and passes through 390 villages. The expressway covers major districts like Nagpur, Wardha, Amravati, Washim, Buldhana, Jalna, Aurangabad, Nashik, Ahmednagar and Thane.
